Jennifer Kovacs is a NYC based contemporary dancer and aerialist. She has traveled both nationally and internationally to perform and teach. Her career has lead her to work with a variety of talented choreographers and producers including; Jordann Baker, Lynn Barr, Jana Hicks, Andrew Katz, David Lay, Marc Van Loon, Jenny Rocha, and Nejla Yatkin. It has also taken her to countries such as; Amsterdam, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Iceland, Mexico, Spain, and UAE.

 

During her career, Jen has performed as an in-house aerialist at The Box NYC and frequently on stage at The Slipper Room. She is currently the lead aerialist for Ultra Music Festival in Miami and March 2023 marks her 11th year with the UMF team. During the summer of 2018 and 2019 she toured Iceland with Reykjavik Kabarett and Búklú. Post pandemic, in 2022 she reunited with Búklú and performed her staple cabaret act 'Rain' in the Reyjkavik Fringe Festival. During the summer of 2021 Jen was commissioned to install and perform an aerial silks piece off of a sailboat in the Hudson Harbor for Greece's Independence Day celebration. In July 2019 she did a short residency contract at Supperclub Amsterdam. From 2011 until their closing in 2014 she was a resident aerialist at Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO. Other credits include performing silks and lyra at a small family gathering for Ariana Grande (Grandpa Grande's 90th birthday party), atmospheric lyra at Usher's surprise 36th birthday bash, organizing and performing in a group silks show at the 2014 Dubai Food Festival, background lyra in a 2015 NFL Superbowl promo commercial for Fox, performing aerial chains on NBC daytime television, aerial hoop in the opening credits of Saturday Night Live, and a featured solo lyra act in the 2018 CFDA/Vouge Fashion Fund Show (wearing Jonathan Cohen). Recently, Jen was honored to be an aerial model for artist Ugo Rondinone's Burn Shine Fly shown at the Venice Biennale 2022

 

In 2016 Jen officially founded Inverted Aerial. Using her years of experience, Inverted Aerial specializes in high end aerial entertainment and experiences. Currently, she works primarily as a soloist for events and projects produced by Inverted Aerial.

 

In addition to performing, Jen has been in the fitness industry and has coached aerialists for over a decade. In 2015 she co-founded and was aerial director of her own aerial studio, Brooklyn AirSpace. Currently, you can find her on staff as an aerial instructor at Aerial Arts NYC. Studios where she has taught workshops include Aerials Amsterdam (Amsterdam, NL), Circus Warehouse (NYC), Eríal Pole (Reykjavik, ISL), The Skybox (NYC), Sky Candy (Austin, TX), Sweet Retreats (Puerto Escondido, MX), Vertical Fitness Dallas (Dallas, TX), and Studio Cirqus (CA), among others.
